They were also totalitarian ultranationalists who favored "national unity" under the state and class collaboration (often in benefit of the bourgeois) rather than internationalism and class struggle. That's all of the strikes in left-wing terms.

Eradication PR at least sterilization of the "unfit" was considered progressive then, eugenics was the craze, see George Bernard Shaw, Oliver Wendell Holmes, H.G.Wells, etc This is why eugenics play such a big role in Brave New World (a satire of progressivism)
