I can't tell if a pisstake swastika would be a good meme.

You know, making the Swastika shape, but out of the following sentences:

Jewish people should wear stars
Jews shouldn't run businesses
They are genetically weak
Let's gas all the jews

And have those phrases butted out of the swastika and replaced with:

Palestine is also a country
Mutilating children is wrong
Stun animals before slaughter
Israel is subject to international law

just throw it up and play Horst Wessel Lied whenever "ANTI SEMITISM!" is thrown out and encoruage people to identify as anti-semites in fits of laughter, we can make a montage of activists barely keeping a straight face as they go "I'm X and I'm an anti-sem-PpFhHAhAhhaaHAha". Maybe make a video with it.

Every time they throw out "That's anti-semitic" just have people laugh and throw out sieg heils and say "YEAH! We're anti-semites bro!"

Appropriation of bullshit demonization tactics has worked in the past, and if they keep misusing the phrase, then we should just go for it.

if they want to turn anti-semitism into a joke that makes the accuser look like a turd, then fine. That's their business.

Inspired by Iceland deciding that they couldn't go through with their decision to ban circumcision because Jewish lobbies wouldn't stop screaming about anti-semitism.

They want to rehabiltiate anti-semitism and make it a positive force for mankind? Fine. Let's go for it.

Jews aren't in danger of being gassed.
Children are in danger of being mutilated.
Fuck it. We owe them nothing in terms of leaving these terms and their context alone if they insist on abusing them.

The sieg heil shall become an eternal symbol of Jewish Lobbies insincerity and duplicity.

Apparently, anti-semitism means opposing barbarity and cruelty performed by jews.

WE Didn't make "Semite" synonymous with terrible things, they did, by insisting "Anti-semite" was such a positive thing for so long.

In modern english parlance, a Semite appears to be a child mutilating war criminal, not the same thing as a Jew.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Aaanyway, yeah, happy international workers' day.

Would it be counter productive to make Worker's Day a holiday?

Because then people wouldn't work on Worker's Day.

No, it ain't counter productive to make International Workers' Day (or any country's labor day) a holiday where the workers don't work.

That's like saying the weekend is counter productive because (most) people don't work on the weekends.

Pssst.
Secret socialist plot.

MANDATORY no holidays on workers day, instead, the profits of the company for that day must be divided appropriately as a form of working-holiday-bonus-celebration.

Its just one day, no worries capitalists.

That's why it's not openly celebrated in the US, where even calling in sick gets you shamed by your boss.

Nah we do celebrate a "labour day" and it is a proper holiday, usually.
Mostly a political stunt, may 1st was too socialist but a holiday is a holiday

I'm not sure what DCF was talking about with post-structuralism critiquing structural linguistics. Post-structuralism, as far as I can tell, isn't really a school of linguistics in the same way structural linguistics is... I've actually never heard post-structuralism in relation to linguistics, except maaaaaybe philosophy of language. I've always heard it used to refer to literary and art criticism, primarily, though I'm sure not exclusively.

There's post-structural criminology, post-structural archeology, post-structural whatever-have you, in the same way that there was with structural. It's merely a matter of applying higher theory to lower theory.
IIRC DCF's academic career has something to do with linguistics, so that's what he'd be familiar with. You mostly hear of this stuff in literary and art criticism because, well, what doesn't flourish there?
