Which ignores the fact Slavery played very little in developing the majority of the nation. Also, for a Communist to equate economics with culture is odd.

Uh, the slave states were, by and large, larger than the non-slave states, and slavery most certainly did have an effect in developing the culture of the majority of the nation. The majority of internalized conflicts between states grew off the back of slave-related issues up until 1865, even.

What exactly do you mean by larger? In size, GDP, what? As for the country as a whole, most definitely not.

Well you aren't a real socialist. Just a sociopath disguised as one.
Not to mention that this thread split off from LWDT, so I assumed you would think this thread was a "revisionist hellhole".

That is terribly reductionist. Especially considering the colonies, at least some of them, existed before the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade began.

That's wrong. The Transatlantic slave trade began in the early 16th century and the first permanent English colony in the Americas (Jamestown) wasn't established until the beginning of the 17th century; they had slaves from the very beginning.

But drinking alcohol is un-American. The United States has lost its real culture to worthless and degenerate consumerism ever since we repealed prohibition.

American culture has its initial roots in New England Puritanism and the two Great Awakenings on the frontiers. The repeal of prohibition represented the decline of the religious idealism which was key to America's previous greatness.
