You'll find that most communists are pro-gun and pro-gun safety. They agree with that facet of the NRA, although not its population of right-wing class-traitors.

We also have the Socialist Rifle Organization (SRA), though they aren't nearly as large in the US.

This is a left wing discussion thread, not strictly a democrat thing ( actually, I think a lot of the lefties here hate the DNC ).

I'd wager nearly everybody here doesn't identify as a Democrat. I do, but I'm not a socialist or some other type of "hard leftist," unlike most posters.

A universal basic income of $500 a month prevents the lumpenproletariat from starving to death in their slums in the shadow of the megacities and the shining monuments to Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos who made the dystopia possible. Despite this UBI, most of humanity has descended into subsistence farming, weaving, and other traditional trades to stay alive and feed their families on ever more exhausted farmland while once-eradicated diseases spread through the countryside. Battle droids enforce order, killing bands of guerrillas and those who fight for freedom from slavery in these dark times. The world of the elites subsists on small mineral deposits on asteroids and Mars, as well as whatever can be recycled by taking what remains of precious metals like copper, gold, and silver in the hands of the slaves, who are routinely culled to free resources for the elites.

Life for these elites is paradise, every major city has sextabyte internet speeds, 5000 television channels, and every family has an iPad40K for every member of the family. But there are some who sympathize with the plight of those without access to these resources; they go on their online forums arguing for a more equitable distribution of resources, even if it would mean a decrease in the standard of living, or a fall in resource consumption. But such idealists are quickly silenced by cries of "lol, I bet you wrote that on a computer, hypocrite."

Truly, nothing can save us from this most grimdark of futures... nothing.

Wheneverly reminder that liberal democracy began as a revolutionary movement. That's not to say the level of violence was necessarily justified, but just saying that a revolutionary movement cannot be democratic seems very unsupported.

That is a different definition of revolution than is used by many, or most, people on the Left.
