A thread for your predictions about the the future of progress. Feel free to speculate and debate. Here are mine.

Sexual experimentation will become part of the public school curriculum.

Homosexuals will become increasingly militant, incorporating uniforms into their parades

Everyone will get bored by MLK after the bazillionth time, and so Black History Month will focus instead on celebrating the cultural legacy of twerking. Kanye West will be featured on American currency

HBO's Tits and Blood will be acclaimed by critics as "hip, stylish and sexy." Intended for mature audiences.

In the United States, "living document" judges will rule that the Fourteenth Amendment protects polygamy and mandates all states having polygamous marriage; those who object will be dismissed as "polyphobes". Judges will also rule freedom of speech protects child pornography, and due process protects pederasty.

After realizing space exploration's returns are dwarfed by costs, atheists will cease to support it. Science will instead focus on pony sexbots and making anime real

Euthanasia will be used to treat depression among children.

Islam will become the largest religion in Europe. The Pope will hail this as a "victory against colonialism."

OP I do disagree entirely that things like child porn will ever be protected by law.

Pretty much the thing i'm deeply scared of in this post is the space travel thing. I fear that the left will try and take science into giving people lifetimes of sloth and ecstacy instead of saving our civilization from time and traversing the stars. All of the others seem rather outlandish or fixable.

As for my actual predictions of the future - I think automation will cause a major shift in the economy in the future. In which direction, I'm not sure.

I'm hoping the irritating identity politics fad dies out and the focus of the left returns to doing right by people, and promoting truth and freedom rather than trying to alter it.

3. There's no way humans will be that stupid.

4. I have no Idea.

5. Child porno will never be legal, polygamy will also not have enough support to get to the Court.

6. Nope, human space empire will beat anime 100% of the time beacuse gold.

7. That would be massively counter intuitive and just be as stupid as the British law that executed you for trying to kill yourself.

8. Doubt it. But it wouldn't really matter, people believe what they believe.

As for mine:

Robots take away more and more jobs, unemployment reaches over 25% to 50%. Universal basic income kicks in.
More defiling of the innocent until proven guilty idea as more and more intrusive laws come into play.

US gun control debate goes nowhere, people still get shot.

More space travel, eventual colonization of mars.
