You misunderstand. The idea that homophobes are closeted homosexuals comes from the idea that the need to fixate on the sexuality of others shows a deep-rooted insecurity in one's own sexuality. So criticizing blacks or women or the stars (whatever the hell that means) doesn't mean you're literally a black, womanly ball of burning gas, it just suggests a repressed dissatisfaction with your racial identity, relationship with women, or place in the cosmos.

Why does it make you so uncomfortable? Perhaps there something about the gay that you find intriguing, and maybe that fascination is an object of tension for you because it challenges the expectations you have for your own sexuality?
