I'm not sure if you realize this, but literally everyone who didn't vote for him - and, I'm afraid, much of the rest of the world - are laughing at him in an odd combination of wondering and fearing what this bull-in-a-china-closet will smash next.

The Oscars are probably going to be even more political this year. Hollywood is dying to virtue-signal and show its progressive politics yet again.

That's what I think will set him off.

I think he doesn't want to start shit with the people holding the microphones while the show is going on, because they can respond and get standing ovations while he's just sitting in his suite in Mar-A-Lago with half a dozen empty Diet Coke bottles strewn around him.

On the other hand, because the ratings were down for the more political awards last year, they might tone it down. If they tone it down, i think he'll ignore it.

I don't think any of the people who'll be making acceptance speeches care about the ratings, so they'll be as political as they want. And besides, art is political.

He may not have a tv camera on him, but he will have his phone and his Twitter account. He could live tweet the Oscars for all we know. That might make the news. Of course it'll be for his thin skin and big ego rather than actual policy making...

Legitimate concern for the world and laughing at an obvious buffoon is salt now? Pah-lease, there are plenty of other reasons why it's cool to hate the Oscars, them pushing an agenda is a minuscule drop in the bucket, if it's an issue at all. Particularly when it's a safe bet that people will react favorably to bashing politicians.
