The truly idiotic part of the "Got Mine, Fuck You All" is that I know a metric ass ton of conservative minded libertarian types who do not realize that no, they do not get theirs. They got fucked too before the ACA was in place. I know people who have benefited immensely from the ACA and the protections it provides, and they still think the government should get out of healthcare, even though these same damn people were bitching and moaning about the private health insurance industry before the ACA was passed. They fail to realize that they are fucked without it, yet they want to get rid of it because they think they can somehow afford non-subsidized insurance.

Then again, what do I expect when people think that Republican policies will bring about economic and wage growth, when almost all of the poorest states in the country are hardcore Republican, whether you account for it by actual wages, per capita income, median income, or even GDP. It's a fucking joke.

The poll found that a large plurality of Republicans wanted congress to leave the Affordable Care Act alone, however almost all of the respondents wanted Obamacare to be repealed. In the unlikely event that Trump gets impeached, the Republican party would effectively be neutered from doing anything major. Public opinion against them would be at an all time low, and their efforts would need to be in rebuilding themselves.

In terms of his political agenda he does, and he has unwavering support among Christian voters.. I really don't see Christian leaders speaking out against Trump that much.. I mean given his lifestyle they should be at the forefront of outcry as keepers of the moral spirit of America but they're not.

Rule of law matters. The institutions matter. If we ignore these things because the next in line is not ideal we've chucked that over for nothing more than half assed concern trolling. Fuck that bullshit.

Pence will be a president, probably a bad one. But still just a president. With an agenda that will still need support of the legislative body. But he won't be one that runs ripshod over our institutions or flagrantly uses the office to enrich himself.

If you supported him, if you wrung your hands with your vague concerns about an objectively qualified candidate who understood the office and the process fucking own your goddamn mistake.
