Nor do I really, foreigners have no rights to be allowed here if we don't want them. I don't see why people get so worked up about people not wanting more immigration, the country should be worried about taking care of the citizens it already has rather than bringing in more people.

The US does neither, and its not for lack of resources, but for lack of the political will. The government has decided that instead of taking care of others or even ourselves its much more important to ensure that corporations don't pay taxes, and basic services be cut to the bone.

It's just nobody has to accept anybody. Why, for example, USA needed immigrants? Because there were a lot of arable land, but not enough people to settle it, so people are worth more than land. You could see the same in Africa (yeah, that's the reason slavery lingered there for a longer time, too), and the opposite in Europe (lots of people, not enough land). You could see the transition from former to latter view in massive landgrabs from Mexican-American War, for example.
So, what I'm saying, is America and Europe don't actually need more people now, even if USA did need them earlier.
