When you're poor and absolutely destitute, you have more pressing things to worry about than "picking up trash", like how the fuck am I gonna feed my family.

This is among many things that the well-to-do and middle class often dont understand or empathize with.

I wish there was some sort of program like poor-for-a-day so people could understand what its like a bit.

I’d rather not. Mainly because there is no one definition of poor. Everyone’s idea of who is considered poor changes. Some people think that no American is poor if they aren’t living in a cardboard box, while others only think you’re poor if you only have money below a certain amount

I mean I agree with that, but it would be nice for more people to at least be more understanding.

Even then you will still have several people who will say things like, “they aren’t poor, they are better off than all of Africa” or “they aren’t poor, they have a place to stay”.

Brazil is a mixture of many different races too. The Portuguese and other Europeans intermingled with the natives and created a whole new race.
