See, pointing out that the last time unrestricted immigration was allowed resulted in said immigrants largely destroying and driving out the native population is a really bad pro-immigration argument.

That wasn't immigration, that was invasion, the settlers largely did not want to join Indian societies or even respect them. Calling the willfull mass invasion of indian country is whitewashing that both sides of the argument, often disingenuously, engage in.
