Hadn't thought about it until recently. The Marines offer some stellar opportunities right off the bat, and several of my buddies signed up a while back and enjoy it. It's something to consider, but law school is still the top goal.
Edit: Now, in a hypothetical scenario where I'm drafted, I'll do it.

They call their armed forces the Army. Their actual army is the PLA Ground Forces.
Apparently they can't just call their military the armed forces like a normal country.

I doubt it. Communists always try and break convention. The Soviets tried to pretend for a while that their military wasn't an actual military but was rather a glorious people's militia.
