I’ve had three people in my family join. It’s time to break the Army stronghold on my bloodline tho. That’s why I’m joining the Marines the minute I turn 18.

I wouldn’t wanna join the military because part of the job description is receiving verbal abuse. Then there’s the physical aspect. That’s not so bad, but the real problem is how I’ll be running around in 105 degrees in the middle of the desert with no goddamn recourse to anyone. I’m at the mercy of 40 year old Ronald Lee Ermey looking motherfuckers. It’s like being hauled around by psychopathic toddlers and I have the emotional fragility of a 14 year old girl who cuts herself.

Plus there’s that whole shooting people because they have weapons of mass destruction that don’t exist and civillians (innocent people) will die. It’s like being a mercenary where eventually innocent people die.

After, he politely told me I didn't in fact want to join the military and suggested I look for other opportunities...He was a professional, so I took his advice and became a Deadhead instead (LOL). I think he made the right decision...

If you ever do try to be a Corpsman. Dealing with marines while not being one is pretty fun. I did it all the time with the infantry in the army. Ruck marchs are a lot more fun when you don’t have carry heavy shit.

Yes. Armour too. Though most grunts consider those MOSs to be cool. Same with my MOS no grunt wants to piss off a medic or an MP

I'd probably enlist if the draft was going to be instituted, if only because volunteers tend to have a better shot at good training/good jobs than the draftees. I would also definitely enlist if my nation was under attack, though that scenareo is unlikely. If I joined I'd probably try to go airforce.
