The massive uptick in Google search results aren't necessarily proof of more people buying into that shit, but that is what they suggest.

That is what it implies and the number of videos one can find on Youtube about it combined with the ignorant comments.

Maybe they're just trying to find funny things about them, like that one time their Twitter account mentioned something and said "around the globe"

Aight, this is one of those things I have a "Nuke" Argument for (An argument that completely obliterates the proposition)

If the Earth is flat, what about the mantle and the core? Are they also flat? how are they held together with the crust?

If the Earth is flat then there is no core or mantle.

I guess according to them they are just layers in the Earth or a unproven theory perhaps

I'm not gonna lie I'm into a few conspiracy theories and am subbed to a few "truther" channels on YouTube, so I get conspiracy vids in my recommendations. I had one vid pop up today that seemed reasonable, but I quickly realize it was a flat earth vid...I toughed it out and watched the whole thing. I thought my head was going to explode with all the erroneous assumptions the guy was making and his obvious lack of physics knowledge.

There is a almost six hour documentary on Youtube about it posted by someone named Eric Dubay whose videos are so full of misunderstanding of science and falsehoods it makes my head hurt to watch it. He has thousands of subscribers too and the majority of people who post comments on his videos seem to be just as uniformed as he is. If your try to disagree or post facts your either ignored or called brainwashed.

I hope you two watch those videos with adblockers on.

Discussing this as a person that actually understands physics is amusing sometimes. Saddening most of the time though, the explanations for a flat Earth are laughably bad, and I always pose them the same question they can never answer all too well:
"If the Earth is flat, why does the acceleration due to gravity differ on different points, like near the equator or on top of mountains?"
A spherical Earth can explain that, flat can't really, and that can be (relatively) easily observed.

But what about the few who actually believe in what they are saying?

Make them sail around the world in a boat to 'prove' what they say.
Then watch and laugh as they go around and around and around...

They'll believe it to be the government's attempt to prevent them from discovering the truth, I'd wager.

I'm unfortunately aware of Eric Dubay's channel and his lobotomized subbers, he makes me weep for humanity. I was unaware of a six hr documentary though.....now I want to challenge myself to watch it tomorrow. :lol2:

Even my rudimentary knowledge of physics is sufficient to realize the holes in the flat earth model. It really doesn't take much research to conclude that it's a BS theory.

It is just as ridiculous as videos that claim The Simpsons predicted this and that without checking the date of the original footage. I have no idea what those conspiracy theory videos are trying to achieve, but sometimes I feel that they have religious undertones.

Soon they will have members all around the globe

Still, the earth is round, we have pictures from the moon, ISS, and satellites which show it is round

But then again, considering they have the backing of a supposedly faked American moon landing they would probably use it as the basis of their recruitment idea.

Seriously though, only people from velociraptor Earth get salvation, which is what the Earth actually is. Raptor Jesus ate Jesus for your sins.

Because of a supposed 150-feet ice wall around the edge of the Earth keeping everything in. It's supposedly heavily guarded which explains why no one has been able to conquer it, although that leads to the question of how they know about it in the first place (or can prove it exists). Or why they can't simply fly over it now we've got planes that can go to at least 200 times that height.

Plus they'd argue that the pictures of the moon are fake and CGI, the ISS is filmed over a green screen and all that crap.

Probably so they don't make money from adverts.

I wouldn't really say that. Flatline was dropped months before Trump got elected (January 2016 to be exact), for example. I'm pretty sure that's what kicked off all this interest in flat Earth.
