So I just like to say that I'm not from the USA but I do now a lot, to much perhaps, about the stop-and-frisk policy and everyones complaints about the TSA. Bujt I think that most people feel uncomfortable when being patted down by someone, male or female. Now of course, female on male sexual assault is very small compared to other sex offenses, but it's still there. I also never understood why people think most women don't mind being touched by a female officer then a male one. I would still be nervous and tense in that situation. But that's probably because of my distrust towards authority and goverment.

and they are only doing it to protect everyone from terrorists and criminals

its for the greater good after all

Because they're so motherfuckin' good at catching terrorists. The TSA is, by and large, not keeping Americans safe--if terrorist wanted they could stage a reenactment of 9/11 every so often and the TSA would be entirely unable to stop them. Maybe they rotate landmarks, to keep it fresh. BOOM goes the Golden Gate Bridge, BOOM goes the Saint Louis Arch, BOOM goes Tom Hanks. . .and the TSA would be unable to stop it, because they can't detect the vast majority of weapons (some plastic explosives are undetectable by their reader thingies), and the smart terrorists can take advantage of their awfulness. Don't act like the TSA is performing a valuable service--they're attempting to perform a service that private companies were already dealing with.

Also, I personally don't care about the gender of the officer frisking me--they're just doing their job, and I'm enduring it.

I've only been on a plane six times since 9/11, but I have never been pat down yet. *shrug*

I'm sure I wouldn't enjoy it, though.

TSA pats down via sex, so grrls don't pat down guys, unfortunately.

It’s the TSA, I really doubt they care that much.

So basically the premise of the OP is that men are perverts and won't mind getting fondled if its a woman and women are insecure in their sexuality so they wouldn't admit they found being fondled by a woman intrusive for fear of being labeled gay?

Have you dealt with them repeatedly, then?

As someone who flys quite often yes.

Then again I’m one of those TSA pre check people so...

The very definition of "pervert" includes abnormality. So no, I'm not saying they're "perverts." I'm saying that guys are considerably less likely to mind getting fondled, if by a woman. Mind it a little? Some might, some might not.

As for giving women patdowns by female officers, at no point did I imply that aspect at all. It's just that reaction to female suspects or passengers getting fondled is less vocal when the officer is female, for whichever reasons.

The irony is, if we made stop-and-frisk duty an exclusively female position, it would free up other jobs for men, and they'd no longer have to deal with this "you just took this job to grope women" accusation.

And if that doesn't work, we can always blame those who dismissed male opinions one didn't like with "having difficulties getting laid, eh" more often than for female opinions, for giving the impression that males are hornier, and/or less picky about females than females are about males.

My favorite story of my mom, to this day, is when we were at the TSA being heckled over my sister's inhaler for her severe asthma when Rosie O'Donnell legitimately showed up out of nowhere and told off the TSA agent fucking angrily as hell before buying us lunch. Everyone I know hates the TSA, even a frequently ridiculed celebrity. :p

I tend to have pretty good interactions with the TSA. I have brought some pretty weird things through airport screening, including a robotic hand, a working mini car, some legal measuring tools, etc. I was stopped for the hand and a rather large Chinese dinner with rice. For the hand the stared at a bit and then asked why I needed a third hand. For the rice thing they opened it up and asked if I was willing to share (with good reason as it smelled godly). I have been patted down a few times, by both male and female employees after indicating I did not care.

Um, wrong direction.

The problem is that men are never taught they have any right to their own bodies at all. So "being fondled" is just something we have to deal with and grin and bear it.

The answer isn't "welp, that's the way it is. let's just roll with it." - it's to teach men as we've taught women that they DO have a right to their own bodies and to be concerned with sexually aggressive female molesters.

Males have the right to not be fondled by gay males. If males never fought for the right not to be fondled by females, maybe it's because it didn't matter to them.

or maybe it is because they are taught that is shouldn't matter to them and so being unhappy with being fondled by women is a problem with that man.

And which sex convinced them of that?

Females? If so, they must've been onto something, being that they did a better job convincing males to be okay with it than males did convincing females to be okay with it.

Other males? If so, who convinced those "other males" in the first place?

Perhaps it is not a matter of who convinced them but what. Perhaps the male mind; or the male body; is not as averse to female fondling as the reverse.

Or... maybe perceives it as less likely to be as frequent. Which even if true, still comes back to differences in horniness and/or pickiness anyway.

I don't doubt, with variance in the gene pool, some men are going to be genuinely uncomfortable with it. But they're not going to be taken seriously by having us pretend on their behalf that this issue is "gender-neutral."

As a man, I would actually prefer if a female patted me down.

Having a man touch me in a pseudo-sexual way just feels weird.

I don't like it because it is an offensive intrusion in my personal space. I don't want a stranger touching my breasts. I don't want a stranger running their hand over my thighs. I don't want a stranger running their fingers under my waistband, or over my crotch. I don't care if they are male or female, using the back of their hand or their fingertips, i DON'T WANT TO BE TOUCHED BY A STRANGER IN A INTIMATE WAY.

It's really not hard to understand.
