Perhaps cats live long out of sheer stubbornness. It would fit them.

I remember reading that the record is a cat named Creme Puff who lived to 38. For dogs, it's an Australian cattle dog that lived to 29.

I'm not entirely sure how old my cat is. Probably around 7 as well.

My grandparets had a dog who lived to be 17, I think.

Is your cat still very active though?

Yea, technically, we're allowed to get hunting dogs and guard dogs. We just couldn't touch them unless we wash our hands with a certain mix of substances seven times afterwards. Yea, that's why most of us would rather not get one in the first place.

A curly haired Chihuahua? I didn't know such thing exists. Kindly show me, please?

Sorry if the image is a bit bad, he wouldn't stay still for a long enough time to stay still.

He's adorable, like a little doll.

"You may select up to 5 options"?

Saying "yes" to having a pet kind of negates the "no."

He isn't always, but I think that's just because cats like to be lazy, not because he's getting older. This morning he was running around and ambushing me and the dogs as if he was still a kitten.

Why a sloth, of all animals? Is it their cute expression?

Or is it the fact that they probably don't require much care?

They're adorable and super laid back. If I can just find a vet to treat one just in case and make sure I can get their food I would totally get one.

Thanks! When he tries to walk into the snow, he usually stands still because of the cold, and I have to lift him out of it.

I used to have a cat named R Zar Ni... based on a Burmese singer of the same name. It was back in Burma, of course. An orange and white kitten that grew up to around 4-5 years old (I think). I really, really love him, though at that time, being a kid (~10 y/o), I tend to mess around with him a little bit, but he and I were still in great terms with one another. I remembered crying a little when my relatives joked that they gave the cat away because I was playing too much with him. :P

Come 2006-ish, I went to Singapore for my studies, and during the school holidays in 2008, I went back to Burma for a holiday. R Zar Ni is... gone. He apparently wandered away from home and given Burma's messy Downtown roads, he got lost and never came back. WORSE, I am forced to remember (even till now) of what kind of fate he went through. Was he attacked by stray dogs (another problem in Burma)? Eaten by people? TORTURED? My mind couldn't rest every time I thought of this. My relatives and I have all been heartbroken, and kicking ourselves for losing him.

It was all after this then we decided to get proper grills, railings, etc. to keep the cat inside the home. And it was after this then the rest of the cats we keep live healthily. R Zar Ni's mom died of old age, while his sister still lives around till now, timid of strangers (me).

aww... Poor thing. :(

My dog simply ends up limping from the cold as he tries to lick his paws warm again.

My dog will not get in the water. The other summer, the only reason she got in the lake, was because she fell in. She wouldn't get in, even if we put a life jacket on her.

Dude, that's sad. Sorry to hear that. Wait, people eat cats in Burma?

Oh no!! Poor girl!!

I'm too hesitant to put my dog in a large body of water. He begins to tremble when he's waiting in the bathtub though. Since he's got little legs, I'm not sure if he can even swim...

He does it just for me to pick him up, that's the funny part. :p

I think she just doesn't like the water. She's big, so ahe probably wouldn't have to worry about drowning.

Ah. I see. A big friend! :D

I'm curious if this hadn't been mentioned before, but what have you lot named your pets? My dog is called Coco as the previous owner named him. ^^

Oh no no, let me clarify that... Not ALL of us (I know I don't; first thing I do is to pet it). A good 99% of us don't. But you know, there are a select few that does. I was just assuming the worst that my poor cat got captured by one of them, no matter the small chance.

Yeah, it's pretty fun outside, I tell him he can go outside the sidewalks when the snow is gone.
