Hell, up until the 70's/80's the US was still forcing left-handed kids to become right handed or ambidextrous because the left is Satanic.

Fatwas are non-binding. An Imam could write a fatwa saying that, if it existed, Muhammad would prefer Coke, but that doesn't make it a fully enforced canon of Islamic law or interpretations. If you're going to go with the Hadiths, BTW, stick with Bukhari. IIRC, that one is the most authentic and accepted one.
