And that label was in turn created by us. We decided that species means that instead of a purple footed panda playing chess.
The Parkus Empire wrote:Yeah, we constructed the label; not what it signifies. Drop the pomo crap.

Per scientific research, individuals with dysphoria have brains aligning with those of the gender we identify with. Cisgendered people have the usual matching brain and body.
Trans people want to live as the gender we identify as and blend in as that in society. Our dysphoria is not a social construct, neither is the natural relationship between sex and gender. People are making dysphoria in to a trending fad, I find the notion of a "spectrum" or "gender is only a social construct" bit irritating and a mockery to the real plight of gender dysphoric people.

I argue that postgenderism, "I'm my own gender, " or "no gender" has zero to do with this. Such positions have no medical support, and are basically "I'm a special snowflake, short and stout."
What are your opinions on "postgender" theory?

Mm, gender is a spectrum and a social construct, but I agree such concepts are overused and misapplied to suggest a kind of gender 'freedom' that doesn't exist.

The names/terms are a social contruction, not the reality they describe.....the star our planet orbits is there whether you call it "Sun" or "Sol".Puldania wrote:Well unfortunately for you, the gender spectrum was a accepted in psychology before tumblr was a thing, so...
