Red herring? People are allowed to bring up how Islamic terrorism has a higher body count to dismiss domestic terrorism but not how the current administration supports banning Muslims to dismiss nonexistent anti-Christian bigotry in the United States?

Hold on, I thought we were talking about Nazis?

When and why the discussion switch to evangelicals?

The Nazis are amusing clowns. The Evangelicals are the ones with executive favor.

So let me get this straight. I criticize you for being a hypocrite and making a bigoted joke, and you spin around and make this about, what, Trump?

Yes, Gauth, that is what we call a red herring. It isn't my fault you're incapable of staying focused.

The problem here is you choosing to perceive a doctrinal observation as bigoted. No different than people citing the Quran to "prove" Real Muslims have to be violent.

Ah, yes, lighting up the Bat Signal to call Jesus is a doctrinal observation.

Keep going. This is fun.

Clearly you can't differentiate between an observation and a joke. Does the Bible actually say the words 'Bat Signal' or did you just insert those words in there to add a sense of mocking levity, Bill Maher-style?

Because if it's the former then I've got news for you...

While Gauth was being a bit rude, the "Bat signal" thing was obviously not literal. He was talking about the evangelical belief that Israel is to be supported so it can grow and become strong so that certain end-time prophecies will be fulfilled. I am an evangelical, and yes, many evangelicals in my very church hold precisely this belief.

I also think it telling that not a single person has responded to my earlier argument.

If this was McBain or Coldwater further inland and more rural/conservative, I would have not even blinked. But to think this occurred in Novi is a bit of a shock to me.

What a great counter-argument.

Personally I was looking forward to your explaining how a Nazi voted for a candidate who was so blatantly pro-Israel.

It is my belief that Nazis are experts in self-delusion. The ones that voted for Trump surely convinced themselves that he wasn't serious about Israel.

Oh, and thanks.

Real terrorists don't give their intended targets advanced warnings. This is just some dumb edgelord sending an empty threat because he probably thought he'd get away with it.

Considering birds being descended from dinosaurs I got a mental picture of future media sources farming a flightless BBC for eggs.

I'm still waiting for people to prove their news is fake in a way that doesn't boil down to "they criticised Dear Leader and I don't like that".

In that case I would advise you to actually look at CNN for a couple hours. They have embraced fully the 24h news cycle and the desire to be first to a news. And that means they inevitably rely on one sided reports without any real fact checking as they don't have the time to do so. Worse yet, I've often seen them literally interviewing random people on the ground via skype and calling that a report.

And that's before we get into the fact that CNN and BBC and their ilk are just the western equivalents of CCTV and Russia Today. They are propaganda networks. CNN just kind of got out of hand and went from being state propaganda to being private capitalist propaganda because you americans have a fetish for privatizing everything. No offense intended, but you do.

Remember Scoopgate and the GIF debacle?

"But that's not f-"

They made something out of nothing and blew it out of proportion, it's fake news.

CNN never started as state news agency. It’s was private from the very beginning. The US prides it’s self on not having a state news agency

Slightly disproportionate but hey I don't want to point out the obvious.

Ah, so Republican terrorism is excusable until the body count matches Islamic terrorism.

Yeah that's exactly what I said. Glad we have intellectuals like you here to explain it for everyone. Hate to point out the obvious, but the title is "Michigander ALLEGEDLY THREATENS to gun down CNN staff"

So it's not terrorism until it involves deaths then? Terrorizing journalists into silence with threats of violence sure feels like textbook definition of terrorism.

CNN is more than likely rolling their eyes. They get these kinds of threats all the time.

There's an interesting notion. Wonder what the annual threat counts for CNN was during other Presidents' administration versus Donald "Fake News" Trump.
