We don't particularly understand hostile environments in this part of the world, it's too mellow on the tectonic front, extremist plates Italy notwithstanding.

We're working on it, but there's too many legs for us to deal with.

I also didn't know that was a thing recently until you mentioned it, so yay.

It used to be common for Roman emperors to be murdered by the Praetorian Guard, which pretty much defeated the purpose of said Praetorian Guard as bodyguards of said emperors.
