I don't think anyone in their right mind would think that a functional equivalent to drinking bleach would become the first big meme of 2018.
They didn't 'anticipate'..
Consumer Reports reported that "since early 2012, poison-control centers nationwide have received reports of nearly 7,700 pod-related exposures to children age 5 years and younger."[7] Tide Pods sent one child to the hospital per day in 2012 and 2013, with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tagging them as a health risk in 2012
It took til 2015 until they added a bitter taste and double lock mechanism.
Look, I'm not exactly blaming Tide as the entire culprits though I do think they could have made potentially lethal, popular household products, a little less appealing in terms of colourful packaging. For the meme part, sure these teens are dumb but, again, it doesn't excuse people on these boards being perfectly happy that people die.
There's things Tide can do, like stop making them look like sweets.

Aillyria would be Claudius. Temper + unwillingness to suffer fools + supporter of the P E O P L E + traditional legalist

Well you aren't a real socialist. Just a sociopath disguised as one.
Not to mention that this thread split off from LWDT, so I assumed you would think this thread was a "revisionist hellhole".

Like that will make teens stop eating them.
