Not going to appeal, since I did definitely go overboard with what I wrote, but if I got warned, shouldn't everybody in the thread who expressed similar sentiments be given the same?

They didn't 'anticipate'..

Consumer Reports reported that "since early 2012, poison-control centers nationwide have received reports of nearly 7,700 pod-related exposures to children age 5 years and younger."[7] Tide Pods sent one child to the hospital per day in 2012 and 2013, with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tagging them as a health risk in 2012

It took til 2015 until they added a bitter taste and double lock mechanism.

Look, I'm not exactly blaming Tide as the entire culprits though I do think they could have made potentially lethal, popular household products, a little less appealing in terms of colourful packaging. For the meme part, sure these teens are dumb but, again, it doesn't excuse people on these boards being perfectly happy that people die.

There's things Tide can do, like stop making them look like sweets.

Like that will make teens stop eating them.

Well you aren't a real socialist. Just a sociopath disguised as one.
Not to mention that this thread split off from LWDT, so I assumed you would think this thread was a "revisionist hellhole".

As a teen I want to say those that do it do not represent us. They need help and shouldn’t be risking their lives.

cmon man what sort of teen does not do something senseless and possibly life-ending
I mean, I should think we all shouldn't eat tide pods, but it's probably not the worst thing any of us has done, simply the most visible of dumbass shit

We assert that good parenting is the best solution here for protecting our youth from Tide Pods. While that should be enough said, we feel compelled to add that when a teenager has ingested Tide Pods for any reason, there has surely been a failure on the part of the parent to develop and enhance their offspring's survival instinct by making certain they know by the age of three that no matter what one hears from any source, it is a bad idea to ingest cleaning chemicals. By five, one's offspring should know what poison warning icons and logos look like. By eight, one's offspring should find it common sense to laugh at anyone lacking sense enough to consume Tide Pods. By adolescence, if these things have yet to be impressed upon the offspring, there is a serious problem with the culture that produced both the parents and the offspring. Regardless, responsibility for the care of the offspring lies primarily with the parent. The only real government involvement from there should be to relieve irresponsible parents of their duties by taking offspring from those parents whose children have consumed Tide Pods for gross neglect and placing them in foster care.

Perhaps a government can use the threat of taking away children to build common sense back into a culture that clearly has forgotten it.
