the state government based in Sacramento is sovereign over the state. These counties have a voice in government they just dont get special treatment which is what they want and what your want for your rural county.

If the majority of the people living in those areas want in then they should have it, however they are but just a very vocal minority.

No, they shouldn't. They aren't being oppressed or denied a say in the political process and the region and its development is not ignored by the state government. They just don't like the agreed upon rules now that things have gotten going, so now they want to change them well into it.

And that's before even getting into the enormous clusterfuck that is water rights and distribution, funding and fielding the army of personnel needed to handle the huge wildfires we're prone to. (Cal Fire spent nearly $200 million on the Thomas fire alone, and that's without adding in the costs from the Forest Service!), and so on. The rural counties in the central valley have been pissing and moaning about not getting allotted enough water already (which is basically a load of bullshit,) a split state would likely mean that the rural folks (and SoCal) would have an even harder, more costly time getting adequate water for their needs.

So another talk about secession but this time instead of leaving the US the people want to leave a state. The rural counties of California want to leave the State and form the state of New California this would leave the Coastal Urban counties that house cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and San Diego to be what is left of the state of California.

My thoughts in regards to the statehood aspect is if they want it let them do it at least it wouldn't be like Puerto Rico, or D.C. vying for statehood. Plus it would give people better options when moving to the West coast if these people can show they can run effectively and efficiently. So what do you people think? Especially those who were born or lived or still live in California

Yes. There have been many proposals to make California into multiple smaller states.
This is one of the simpler ones.

Reading the OP helps, this one isn't the "California leaves the Union" flavor, it's the latest "Split California into multiple states" flavor. I mean, both are completely unviable, shortsighted, and extremely unlikely to gain the majority votes needed to be remotely plausible, but they are different flavors of Not Gonna Happen.

We're offended by them wanting special treatment and representation in excess of their proportion of the population which is forbidden by the US Constitution. And since they can't do anything to illegally expand their representation or secede from the state, they are pointless nuisances.

From what I know it's illegal for states to secede from the union but not from the state so if they want to do it sure go ahead and if they fail they fail and want to come back in and the coast can laugh and them and if they prospere they can laugh at the coast.
