NK is yesterday's news.. come on people it's the Trump-Bannon show now..

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the president’s son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian.

Bannon, speaking to author Michael Wolff, warned that the investigation into alleged collusion with the Kremlin will focus on money laundering and predicted: “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”

Trump hits back..

“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

“When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating 17 candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.”

Oh yeah. It violates his lifetime prime directive of "do unto others before they do unto me." Bannon has done unto Trump as in thrown him under the bus.

Don't forget both World Wars.

In the Second World War, the Allies were invaded. When you're invaded, you have to fight back.

China isn't going to war with us because it would shatter their economy and Russia can just have 2,500 of our nukes aimed at it.

Clearly the solution is to build more :p

Russia has 2,500 nukes to aim back. And if the US starts a war on China's borders, China is suddenly going to stop giving a shit about the economy.

The most ideal resolution to the conflict is Korean reunification and integration of North Korea into the world economy. The regime isn't going to last forever, and we have yet to see the results of Kim Jong-un increasingly liberalizing North Korea's economy. A larger middle class may demand greater openness and change a la South Korea and Taiwan, and integration into the world economy will demand greater openness as in China.

Or it could backslide again, as it did from the 70s onward, and get even worse. We're looking at a pretty fucking unique situation in NK. Few dictators have managed to create the totalitarian societies they desire, or, in Un's case, run them. States with much weaker controls on the population have managed to rule by force for hundreds of years - why is NK exempt from this possibility?

Because the people want reunification. Name a single society that was ruled for hundreds of years, that wanted reunification with its equally powerful neighbor.

Nukes serve as a deterrent to invasion. Once Korea is unified - there's nothing to invade. Short of that, North Korea will continue to have nukes, and we'll continue to speak of potential war. Also, South Korea wasn't flowing in wealth in the 1950s. Would your country work hard for 70 years to double its size and prestige? I think it's a project worth pursuing.

I'd post a list of countries that don't have nukes, but I think that'd count as spam. But it's near 200.

Nukes are expensive, the only ones who can afford it are the UNSC 5 and nations with a severe need, like one surrounded by enemies (Israel) or to avoid constant border engadgements, (India & Pakistan)

No, most countries can't see 10 years into the future, yet alone 100. And you think the democratic nation of South Korea wants to double its voter base with a illiterate population of starving farmers who worship a political dynasty? Too many unknowns by half.

There are 193 UN recognized member states, and some are quite tiny, whereas others don't have the technological development required to start developing nukes. The literacy rate in North Korea is 99%. Also, reunification isn't going to happen overnight.

We need to work with Japan to repeal and replace article 9, which pretty much prevents them from having a military.

"We need to work with Japan to get rid of something their people want"

The US has been pushing Japan to get rid of Article 9 since the beginning of the Cold War, and countless Japanese PMs have been trying to get rid of it. However, it is very popular in Japan.

Article 9 is the reason that Japan isn't funding the US Military Industrial Complex. That's why the US wants to get rid of it, and why there's provocation against North Korea. The US actually invaded Iraq, assisted in the destruction of Libya. North Korea launched a few missiles. And yet, they're trying to justify fucking war, while deeply pretending to care for the North Korean People, millions of whom will be annihilated.

Crimes committed by Muslims will be proof of a pan-Islamic plot and Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand, crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of mentally ill lone wolves who do not represent their professed belief system at all.
The probability of someone secretly participating in homosexual acts is directly proportional to the frequency and loudness of their publicly professed disapproval and/or disgust for homosexuality.
If Donald Trump accuses an individual of malfeasance without evidence, it is almost a certainty either he or someone associated with him has in fact committed that very same malfeasance to a greater degree.

Not really.

Not sure why it would be approving, but huh. 40% is the highest he has had for a while.

It's amazing to me how much it fluctuates. How can it fluctuate from like 32% to 40%? There is really that many people who are like "Yeah, this is fine now", even if briefly?

Though daily tracker polls are weird. And overall trends seem to keep him at about 36% to 38% on average.

I think the odd aspect of this presidency is how much is based simply on his Twitter account, seems the past few weeks someone got a degree of control on it and he's been relatively sane but these past couple of days he's gone off the edge again. His approval seems to essentially rise and fall against the sanity of his tweets.

Still more then half the nation hates him though.

I like to think that people tend to think positively about their leadership, like when the president isn't actively in the headlines people are more inclined to have less extreme views on him/her, which translates to people getting back on the fence and giving weak "yes" answers to the question "do you approve of the president's performance?" So, this is just a reversion to the mean, not necessarily improvement.

Give him more time, I'm sure he'll blow it hard.
