The US has been pushing Japan to get rid of Article 9 since the beginning of the Cold War, and countless Japanese PMs have been trying to get rid of it. However, it is very popular in Japan.

I believe that nations have a right to protect themselves. The U.S. has no time or money for the squabbles of Japan. Repeal and replace Article 9.

Japan has Self-Defense Forces to protect itself.

Based on what you're saying, you know literally nothing about Korea. Perhaps you're the one devoid of facts and realism?

What I'm saying is immediate reunification is a bad idea, and that it would require a lot more info planning and communication before laying the groundwork. And the sources you provide show support for immediate reunification is about 15%, similar percent don't want reunification. while more then half want to proceed cautiously.

No one is arguing for immediate reunification. No realistic plans for reunification feature immediate reunification. They all feature the gradual meshing of North and South over a long period of time in a way that tries to maximize stability and success. Immediate reunification is just something those with high passions but little knowledge of the situation want.

Well, it seems we're in at least partial agreement, yet we were still arguing. :)

Japan has Self-Defense Forces to protect itself.

The SDF is not sufficient for Japan's defense. If it was, we wouldn't even be discussing what to do with N. Korea because it would have been crushed by the might of the Imperial Japanese Army. Also, it was created solely to defend Japan from the Soviets until American troops can arrive in the event of a Soviet Invasion.

When "greatness" is measured by volume of liberal salt mined, it's easy to see it as such.

Under Trump, the salt industry has exponentially grown.

The last 10 pages of the last thread were so lit, I'm glad that shit hit the post limit before it went nuclear.

Also,

Ten threads filled in a year. So we're looking at another thirty if Trump finishes out this term.

When he finishes. Nothing will boot him out short of death, which I'd like to avoid

The thread rates have slowed down somewhat: the durations (in days) have been 31, 35, 17, 33, 55, 53, 42, 31, 55, 63, respectively (over slightly more than a year: that's November 2016-January 2018). That third thread was fast.

Well, if someone else is president in the future, it might be a good idea.
