I feel that if Twitter had existed in the 70s/80s and Trump had been president at the time we would all be in living a radioactive wasteland by now.

Did Trump actually announce THE MOST DISHONEST AND CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR like he said he would?

Today's dose of middle school geopolitics.

Bonus points for the video that played that had Haley saying that the sky is still up three days after the announcement so there's nothing to worry about.

I'm beginning to think that the GOP philosophy doesn't account for things that don't happen instantaneously.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Manafort's got a brass pair, I'll give him that. Anyone think this will work to derail the investigation?

Some dude in the last thread thought this was a reason to abandon the whole Russia thing all together unless we wanted trump 2020. “Guy who got caught doesn’t think he should have got caught” didn’t seem like a compelling damnation to me.

Hey's it's that "some dude", how've you been CTOAN? See, the thing that some of the Democrats still don't get, (for some reason,) is that Republicans are better at campaigning. Obama defeated McCain, a throwaway candidate, (akin to Mondale,) and then ran as an incumbent. Usually, the Republicans win, unless the Democrats can win on the issues, like they did in the 2006 Congressional Elections. Issue work. Dirt doesn't.

Manafort got caught due to his dealings in Ukraine, and Ukraine isn't Russia, yet. Certainly wasn't Russia when Manafort was caught there. You know who else was caught? The brother of Clinton's campaign manager, and yeah, one more, one Joe Biden. If the dealings in Ukraine are fair game, then boy oh boy do Republicans have a lot of material against Joe Biden. For starters, there's his memoir, where he admits to playing a role in telling Yanukovich to not disperse the protests, almost on a daily basis.

The protests that Biden told Yanukovich not to disperse turned out to be quite violent, and toppled Yanukovich. The problem is that most Ukrainians are worse off now, whereas Biden's son is profiting from the current state of Ukraine. So - you sure the Democrats want to make Ukraine fair game? I'm all for that - it's entertaining. I'm just not sure I want eight years of Republican Dominance.

All I'm saying that unless the Democrats can win on the issues, they ain't going to get the White House, and neither Russia, nor Marcia Brady, are to blame.

Bannon's media defeat in Alabama over Roy Moore is important, just not for the reasons you think it is.

Bannon was not outsmarted in the media game, he simply was dealing with a deadweight candidate that, for all intents and purposes, no amount of glitter and wrapping over him would be capable of making him look good other than "he's not a Democrat", and this is the very reason why Clinton lost in the presidential election.

This isn't an indictment to either side's tactics, but rather a reflection of the current political climate. Many people are starting to vote not on the bare essential like party lines, but rather they're starting to vote back on perception.

I agree. This is the trend that both parties are missing. Moore was a sorry candidate. Him running in Alabama would've been like Bertuzzi running for the NHL Players' Rights Group. (Bertuzzi hit Moore... other Moore, but still :P)

In another extraordinary section, Wolff writes: “Trump liked to say that one of the things that made life worth living was getting your friends’ wives into bed.” To that end, the book claims, Trump would invite the friend to his office and engage in “more or less constant sexual banter”.

The book goes on to say that, with the friend’s wife on speakerphone, listening to the conversation, Trump would allegedly ask the friend: “‘Do you still like having sex with your wife? How often? You must have had a better fuck than your wife? Tell me about it. I have girls coming in from Los Angeles at three o’clock. We can go upstairs and have a great time.”

Classy.. it's odd that Trump goes primarily after Bannon and not the book itself, you'd think a better strategy would be to denounce the book entirely as fake rather than attack Bannon, thus implying a lot of the book is true.

Didn't a Democrat just win in a state for the first time in like a bunch of years based almost entirely on dirt?

That story was kinda absurd. A sailor on a sub taking pictures while onboard for his family and he got dishonorably discharged and a year in prison or some shit.
