Truth be told I actually expect the GOP to do decent in the midterms. I don't have numbers or anything to back it up, just a gut feeling really but I think they'll hold both houses and probably even gain Senate seats.

I admit to thinking it was insane but after hearing that black minister in Michigan talk; I knew he was going to win the state. H. Listened to the retarded stat people and thought she didn't have to do anything. Hell they didn't even have many people on the ground. That minister said when Obama ran he had numbers to several people and the leaders of the state. They kept in constant contact on the views of the people.

Stupid thing was H only needed to describe what was needed to rebuild and that might have resonated with the rust belt. Never understood the blue wall nonsense. Politics and events doesn't work that way.

The whole Blue Wall idea was silly. While yes Obama did good in those places people seemed to forget how close they were in previous years. In 2004 Kerry won Michigan by just over 3% for example, in 2000 it was 5%. Given that demographically the Rust Belt is shifting towards the GOP and they feel shafted by NAFTA and Obamacare it's not shocking they went red, and I think it'll keep happening unless the Dems seriously rework their message to appeal to those peoples.

There were things called literacy tests and poll taxes.

Poll taxes were the main source of state revenue since before the Revolution, they were not created to stop people from voting even if they incidentally caused it. I am not sure you really know what they are, though.

Illiterate people should not be voting on a ballot, obviously. The issue is ensuring literacy tests m are on the level
