It's cringeworthy when people vandalize Holocaust memorials or whatever -- like seriously, those memorials are really important to some people, so just leave them alone -- but a lot of countries have antisemitism, and I don't think antisemitism in Germany is more dangerous than antisemitism in other countries. It'd be a shame if we missed the warning signs in another country because we were too busy fixating on Germany.

In high school, I expected it to end, but of course it didn't. This isn't to day that it is school-sanctioned, or everyone is an anti-Semite. I go to an IB program in the United States, and as such most of the kids are not very ignorant, and the school/program administrators would bend over backwards to prevent the reputation of the school/program from being tarnished. Nonetheless, it still occurs, people give the Nazi salute during the national anthem, make Holocaust jokes, etc.

When I was in the IB program, the majority of my classmates were Jewish. Everybody called each other "kike" all the time, but it was an in-joke like Chinese kids calling each other "chink" or black people dropping the n-bomb.
