Op: at first I thought it was just a photoshop job but then as I read further I noticed it might be real and that it was found wondering the streets in Russian and is now in a shelter. Could this be a hybrid breed illegally by breeders, created in a lab, or a mutation by radioactive substances somewhere in Russia?

It’s says it’s a dog, mix between a chow chow and some sort of long nosed breed. Not a mutant at all.

I would apply an irresponsible breeding program here, a mix between three of four dog breeds could probably create this sort of thing quite easily. Created in a lab would be slightly futile for one of the biggest nations in the world to release their product into the wild. Also, the radioactive theory just doesn't work considering that radiation doesn't create creatures like this, it just causes cancer and skin disorders.

so was is this any more irresponsible than any other dog breed? We already have narrowheaded pitbulls, Dachshund and chihuahuas. Hell even the German shepherd has a sloped back and bad hipjoints

A bear and a dog in a weather balloon were struck by lightning while travelling through swamp gas. This is my explanation, and probably the most plausible. Aliens most definitely not involved!

The article alleges (without any proof or reasoning I might add) that the reason it was abandoned on the streets is that it's not a proper pure breed and that therefore those that bread it were irresponsible.

The idea is that they sold the dog as a purebred puppy and when it grew up and the owners realized they'd been had they released it.

The only dogs that should be bread are hot dogs.

Why must you bring the american corruption of proper European sausage into this?

Oh, I did not notice. English is not my first language so I take what ever spelling Firefox autosuggests for me.

The saddest part of the story is that the actual dog is really really cute. Like I don't even like dogs much (am a cat person) but I'd take that thing into my home any day.
