Aillyria would be Claudius. Temper + unwillingness to suffer fools + supporter of the P E O P L E + traditional legalist

Well you aren't a real socialist. Just a sociopath disguised as one.
Not to mention that this thread split off from LWDT, so I assumed you would think this thread was a "revisionist hellhole".

So TYT did this story recently, about this San Francisco business that is deploying robots to keep away homeless people. The creator says that it will have a "commanding presence" and will work but I don't quite buy it. It doesn't look intimidating one bit. On the contrary, I see all sorts of ways it'll backfire instead and cost more money than simply having a cop or security guard.
Honestly, what is to keep someone from simply pushing it over, laying it down on its side, trashing it, or perhaps stealing it and using it for scrap after dismantling it? Do you believe that more lethal robots will eventually be deployed in a civilian setting or do you see the trend as less of a threat if the best robotics can come up with are "Roomba vacuum" lookalikes?

If we do figure it out, which I firmly believe is in the cards, and we are not idiots (which I hope we aren't) it becomes not just probable but awesome and desirable. After all, who does not want to live in a paradise catered to by an android slave race?
