I made a soup, two ingredients were red cabbage and turmeric. My leftovers all turned bright green in the fridge due to to mix of yellow turmeric and grey cooked red cabbage. That red cabbage has been turning all of my food grey for the past month and I am so angry. It won't even spoil! It sits in my fridge mocking me. I wish I had a normal cabbage.

Soup still tasted fine

Bake a brie and then drop some walnuts on it, then drizzle it with honey.

I promise you will like it.

I love mozzarella, especially smoked. Gouda's always nice, and I love chevres. Give me some provolone, ham, salami, roasted peppers., lettuce tomato and and balsamic vinegar on a hero and I am a contented camper. Brie and Camembert are great to spread on water crackers.

I like pepper jack in small doses. I'm largely a spice wimp, but I can take a little heat. :D

Rep, you seem to be the Cheez-Wiz, so let me ask you something. One thing I like around the holiday are the gift boxes of meats/cheeses in the sampler sizes. I do really love the flavor of a richly smoked cheese with a nice rind. What I don't like is looking at the ingredients and wondering if Bill Nye weeps in his dreams. What cheeses should I be looking for at the deli that have a savory, hearty flavor? I liked nuanced cheeses in sandwiches, but sometimes I just want a one-trick-pony on a cracker. Maybe with a little Sauvignon Blanc.

For smoked cheese, you can't go wrong with a smoked gouda. It's not as sharp as say, cheddar, but has a really nice creamy punch that goes well with the smoke. For one-trick-pony on a cracker, some variety of brie is a good call, and Wensleydale with cranberries in it is the stuff of gods on a good cracker. (Bit more of a desserty type cheese though, it's a little sweeter even before factoring in the cranberries.) Not sure how hard it is to find outside of California, but Humbolbt Fog is absurdly rich, depending on your tastes it may be a bit overpowering though.

Also, holy crap I could spend entirely too much time on that cheese website I stumbled across while looking for the spelling for 'Wensleydale'.

I love that sort of thing, but it's the quality and variety that make it special, not just the quantity of cheese.

Speaking of cheese. I'm gonna visit my parents for Christmas and they always have this fantastic cheese from the local market.

I'll just skip Christmas dinner, just give me 1kg of that cheese please.
