You have a source to back that up?

I'm looking, can't find it.

The Obama administration did invest more into the VA, but it was ineffective overall. The Veterans Hospital in my hometown of Phoenix is the most abysmal in the country, an absolute disgrace. My dad, too, deals with Veterans Hospitals weekly, as his company sends him across the country to sell medicine and he often sells to Veterans Hospitals. He's been doing it since the 80s and says things have gone from bad to horrifying in many VA hospitals nationwide.

Even if you differentiate between mandatory and discretionary spending, it is still clear that the Obama administration at least made some effort.

Sorta. That didn't have much to do with Obama so much as there was an influx of soldiers coming back AND that figure uses the highest possible figure to show that growth. The lowest is 67%, which is still high but meh.

AND that post of mine piggy backs off of ONE source. Although it's pretty reputable.

Looks like they just announced they aren’t going to scrap the homeless veterans benefits.

At least according to NyMag and HuffPo.

Source?

And if so, like the attempt at nixing the adoption credit , they only did it after a massive backlash.

If they did, at least they listened to backlash.

Better than some government organisations.

Yes,but the backlash shouldn't have been needed in the first place.

And the GOP loves making veterans, not spending on the existing ones.

I mean this is a situation that has existed under Dem administrations as well.

Im sadly not surprised to hear about this. From what ive see of veterans in america (granted not a lot but still) it usually amounts to people and groups such as the GOP talking a lot about helping vets because they deserve it, but actually very little help for vets in practice. Same with the UK honestly.

And it seems they will get even less now.

Neither side really seems to give a shit about veterans, to be honest. They just appeal to them come election time, and then ignore them at best or fuck them over at worst.

This is similar to Canada, where both Liberals and Conservatives make promises to our vets (not as much as in the States), and then they ignore them or fuck them over.

I've heard it's similar in our parent nation across the pond. Honestly something we need to fix.

The VA no longer has the money to give Homeless vets a house.

If they have a home, how would they continue to be homeless? Who would we give that money to?

Does no one else see the paradox?

Yes, but words are cheap. It's cheaper to make promises and not follow through on them than actually improving the situation. Same thing with the living conditions on First Nations reserves across Canada.

Seems messed up to me that we are trying to increase our military’s manpower and at the same time say screw you to those who have already served.

He singlehandedly brought down the entire establishment and destroyed the clinton machine, reducing it to a rabble of ash and debris. He also destroyed in the same way the entire political landscape of the United States, paving the way for a new future.

But thats also the problem with the Donald, he is a purely destructive force. Not a constructive. He does destroy, not build up the new future America and the World would have had needed.
