She stayed with him and he pimped her out so the two of them had money for cocaine. This is a bad situation but it's not one she couldn't get out of, especially considering he gave her a gun for protection and didn't really supervise her while she was working.

2. She didn't free herself. The guy she shot was a customer. She shoot him and went back to her pimp to give him the money and guns she stole. He sent her away ALONE to hide. If she wanted to escape she could have left the corner, if she wanted to escape she could have left the john's house, if she wanted to escape she could have shot her pimp, if she wanted to escape she could have done about a dozen things. She was not trying to escape.

Look, if there was someone who doesn’t know me, where I live, or anything that so terrified me that I would be afraid to confront them while awake, and they fell asleep, I’d leave. I wouldn’t murder them in cold blood in their sleep like she even admitted to doing under interrogation.

I know she has mental problems. I know she has historical issues. Heck, I’ll agree the sentencing is disproportionate based on these factors. She still murdered a sleeping man in cold blood. I’m not even inclined to take the “threatening” behavior part seriously as it didn’t come up until after the original confession which agreed with the forensics, when she changed her story to one contrary to the forensic evidence.

Add to that the only other witness to the alleged threatening is now dead and can’t testify.

You can’t get around it that she committed murder.

The only one with any claims that he abused or threatened her is the person who made statements that contradicted the physical evidence. Since we know as matter of FACT that elements of the statement are false, it casts doubt on her statements as a whole where lacking corroboration. She claims he threatened her, she also claimed he was reaching for a gun... the later part was demonstrably false by the forensic evidence gathered from the scene..... which casts doubt on the validity of the former statement as well.

Yes, the title is misleading..... which is why you should not base your view of a situation purely based on a title. But rather should look at multiple sources of the case and its background before forming an opinion.

Word to the wise: courts can give you funny results, biased results, even horrible results, but they are almost never abjectly retarded results. If a court result seems abjectly retarded, you need to do some research - it’s probably not what you think.
