Tell us about your avatar/flag

Well.. we have a thread about nation names[1]. A thread debating if the avatar should be identical to the nationflag one has chosen[2]. We even have a thread to devise a flag for nations that have died a gruesome death[3].

But we seem to not have a topic on the flags themselves yet. Until now ;)

Mine is the logo of the university faction from the classic game "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri", chosen to fit my nations theme. My avatar on jolt is the image of the leader of said faction.

I am still doubting if I should remove the planet backdrop, and just have the logo - but this so nicely fits the motto of my nation as well...

What's yours :) ?

Mine is twin lightning bolts striking a target. Which stand for God's power to strike down the sinners. Our motto is "Disce Pati" which means learn to suffer. Which fits in well with the religious backdrop of my nation.

Mine is a blue butterfly - which has absolutely nothing to do with my nation which enforces strict, militant evolution on pain of death.

This flag was made in MS Paint, then I used some crappy photo editing program to rotate it across 360 degrees, then did some fading and shading stuff...that's about it. I used to have a printout of this design on my door. Yes, it is possibly the most artistic picture I have ever made on a computer.

Bah, that was meant to be posted as Kele.

Anyway, I then went on to make this colourful flag, made in much the same manner.

Mine was made with paint, and was designed to reflect my religious beliefs.

Not a bad flag, but you have so much room to do stuff in the other quadrants! :P

Mine is a symbol of Christianity and the symbol of the place from which my countries idea came from. When I was 13 I was chosen to be the 5th Minucular Bob, like King Bob from the show Recess. This was my school's flag so to speak.
Minucular Bob still reigns at the school with my youngest brother being the 11th so there is a lot of history there.

I have had the thought, but just haven't gotten around to it. I was thinking about putting a crystal skull in the lower right quadrant.

My flag is the symbol of the Invisible Pink Unicorn (blessed be her holy hooves) of which I am an ardent follower.

Mine is pretty simple. It shows the face of the nation's leader, Father Kirei Kotomine, and to the right a golden cross representing the Roman Catholic Church. Father Kotomine is from the Anime/Visual Novel Fate/Stay Night

My flag? Well, you're supposed to know what it is. I wonder if anyone has alternate theories, though.

East Timor has a decent flag (shame it's a shit country mind), and my avatar at NSG proper is something I did on Paint when we got to have Avatars.

This is easy. The left side is a logo of my company, looks like a stock chart and represents the markets. The right side is a picture of..... me who else?

Motto: "Free Market Capitalism, Path to Prosperity" should be self explanatory, aka the Kudlow Creed.

My flag is the flag of the Komnenos family, which was the ruling house of the Byzantine Empire for some time, and then of the Empire of Trebizond. This is because my nation is a part of roleplay from another forum, which featured a map of the Caspian and Black Seas region, and my country was put in the same place Trebizond was. I decided to use that as a motif for my nation.

Fairly standard Monarcho-fascist design here. The main symbol is a Vehmic Cross, the (alleged) symbol of a group of secret courts in Westphalia, Germany, during the Middle Ages. In-character it was adopted as a symbol of justice and retribution during the Imperial Restoration.

The Gamma Cross in the upper-left derives from Skeelzania's placement in the galaxy, e.g. the Gamma Quadrant according to Star Trek.

Well, just take a look at it. It's the unflag - exactly the size of a normal flag, but totally transparent. I have it for a few reasons.

Firstly, I keep flags/avatars turned off, so it means I'm not stuck with an image I can't see

Secondly, I kinda like the symbolism - instead of the blank slate of a plain flag, it's an open mind without any predefined characteristics.

Finally, it's pretty damn zen.

I lost my last flag: an awesome wedge of cheese. This one really captures my love of tacos, and the wanting to maintain my taco shack. And any flag with a smiley on it, no matter how misshapen, has to be a good thing! :)
