They have also supported the proposed gun control bill that would ban bump fire stocks, another thing that leftists typically support. I don’t see how this invalidates my argument. These are things that left wingers tend to support, the fact that some republicans are in on this doesn’t change that in the slightest.
Well you can't just say 'switch sides' when the other side is doing the same thing, right?
Also can't blame 'leftists' if the 'rightists' are also playing for the same team.

Ironic, considering democracy was about giving power to the people, and in the modern age it is nigh impossible for the citizens to change things in a democratic society.
Which is why I suggest a riot or something that doesn't involve killing. Because if we can't change things democratically, why not make change by force?

The FCC has promised Fox news will not be throttled and those other sources would only be throttled a little bit.

And what exactly is going to happen to it?

There is too much at stake for slow democracy!

Except when it's likely to elicit an angry response from someone who was angry when they started the thread. Just ... be civil. Had you said, "Don't be ridiculous" I wouldn't have said a word.

As a moderator, do you know what the site's plan is if Net Neutrality is gutted? I don't imagine it would be good for the site at all, hence why I did use NationStates as an example earlier as to what might happen.

...No. This will have to undergo the democratic process like everything else. I could say, “There is too much at stake for slow democracy!” regarding abortion, for example, but that’s not going to change anything. Nor is a riot going to solve anything.

The question has never come up in any discussions to which I've been privy.

What part of too much at stake don't you understand? We are on the verge of the end of the internet as we know it!

No we’re not. From what I understand, the internet will be more under the control of various companies and their friends...which is certainly not good, but it doesn’t mean, “WE’RE GONNA LOSE INTERNET FOREVER!!!” Quit the hysteria. It’s not a battle cry of any sort, it’s only causing unnecessary distress. There’s a lot at stake for plenty of issues. That doesn’t mean panic is the answer.
