Oldest Nations in NS

I'm pretty sure that the first nation in NS is Maxtopia, but what about the Player-Created ones?

I'm old. Reploid Productions is older. Your post needs beefing up because there's really no discussion set up.

Mine's have the founding date below my name. How come yours was only labeled as "Antiquity"?

Because they joined at a time before the site saved the dates people joined, usually pre-2004.

That means, we have no way of knowing who's the first nation ever created?

No we don't, it's highly likely that many of the real first nations ever created most likely left over a decade ago never to return.

It makes them the NSG equivalent of primordial beings in Supernatural. More powerful than angels and able to go toe to toe against beings like Lucifer and the Darkness.

You could wait for the population poll to show up on the daily NS rankings

the highest population = oldest nation still alive

Um... maybe someone (like Frisbeeteria) can tell me off/correct me here if I am wrong, but wasn't the nation state Maxtopia the first one?

Anyone who has Antiquity as their found date is either an elder god, or a great old one. Depending if they are a mod or not.

And threads like these wake them to drive posters to worship and insanity.

Every nation's population seems to increase at a constant rate over time, no matter what happens. So, the oldest nation alive should be the one with the highest population - which, as of right now, is Kyupaa.

But some might CTE for good or got refounded. If I'm not mistaken, population doesn't increase when you CTE.

Really goes hand in hand.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Forgot about that. I suppose Kyupaa has just had the longest continuous stretch of existence so far. Well, then, it may not be possible to know the first player-created nation ever, due to antiquity and CTE, unless Kyupaa's been here since the very beginning.

I remember on a thread similar to this someone founded in Antiquity (one of the eldest raiders if I correctly recall) who claimed that he discovered NationStates by coincidence on the very first day it was founded and posted a screenshot from that time. Might be that guy, whoever they are.
"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls, when firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time, all being stuck in a neverending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession, no one able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the Materium, turning the Warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry, then there will be enough Dakka. Or atleast almost." - The Emperor.

In the old days you had to dial a number and wait in a queue to send issue responses scribbled on scraps of paper. It was all handled by a special machine called Fax Barry.

Then triplicate.
Occasionally in quadruplicate.

Of course, content was better.

Oh dear God, I remember.... I think there was about a 2hr window, from 10pm to midnight, when I could actually post. Once midnight hit, boom, it was alllll over.

Must have made raiding and defense very very interesting.

Ideally for any topic there should be a paragraph outlining the context, then at least a few lines explaining your position, and then a question to throw to the world to answer.
