I have nothing to fear, Al-Hoppeyyun (PBUH) is on my side. Your mere thoughts violate the NAP.

Something is not "ridiculous", btw, just because it upsets your sensibilities.

I am sure he has, since that is the only ground for calling Schopenhauer's statement ridiculous.

"Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Hoppe."

Yup, essentially. Same with WG calling Schop a loon.

Not really a fan of war, fam. Although I can certainly understand intervening when dangerous internationalists are taking over next door.

Eh.....capitalism, yes. The Enlightenment was, on the whole, a benevolent force and superior to what was before it.

Which Enlightenment thinker do you like?

War is the father and king of all: some he has made gods, and some men; some slaves and some free.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Hobbes, and Kant are some of my favorites.

Of course. People take my distaste for modern liberalism to mean I dislike liberalism in general, however, I'm fond of alot of the Enlightenment ideas and classical liberalism. Both are very key to just societal structure, imho.

He shared some ideas of the Enlightenment, but liked to make known he was against the rationalism and social norms of the time. If it wasn't anti-Enlightenment, then it was at least a challenge to modernity he has.

I'd agree with the latter, I think he should be considered a philosopher of the Enlightenment tradition...but he seemed to have a slight taste for metaphysics. That's one of the reasons I like him.

Rousseau...A man who promoted mob rule and tried to undermine the traditional Christian morality of Western society? Sorry, but I do not see what good came from his ideas.
