We currently in a era of mass extinction - it's not a hyperbole. Give another 50 years and we will have destroyed what remains of the rain forest, the great barrier reef, and the world's major fisheries. Space colonization is a pipe dream until it can be made significantly cheaper - which will not be for a long time, or in other words, too late.

We need to stop relying on fantasies and the future generations to fix our problems; we need to start taking responsibility now.

This.

So from popular trends, RWDT, if the users in question was part of Russian history, who would it be?

TEM is pretty simple. - Yemelyan Pugachev. No one on this thread deals as intimately with the Turks and Islam for the purposes of subverting law and order.

UMN - Years back you'd get an easy Lenin or Stalin, however now . . . I would say you are Boris, son of Vladimir. Giving your life for the preservation of the RUS as you're gradually becoming more rational. Good on you for improving.

Lumi - Saint Olga. Some of the burns you've put make her punitive expeditions look like roman candles.

CM - False Dimitry I. You come into RWDT with a clearly left wing notions, pretending to be part of the kool kids klub and with a vaguely ethnic bent. The hordes of true Russians will one day chase you out and your false, western beliefs.

Parkus - Rasputin. Your involvement will become the death of RWDT the empire. The entire world and rightaboo's look at your eccentric and weird postulations and it damages our prestige more than the embarrassing affairs to the far east.

Old Tyrannia - Boris Godunov. A wise regent and administrator, but we cannot help but think you promote the idea of tsarism because you yourself might become tzar one day . . . Surely you will lead us into the times of great trouble.

Benuty - Ivan I the moneybag. Taking all our hard earned currency and giving it to some esoteric eastern figures all while advancing his own position and estates. Have you no shame?

Minzerland II - Metropolitan Isidore. Trying to build bridges, but you get cut down by people on both sides of the equation because we can't have nice things here in the rus.

Balk - Basil the fool. Our beloved shitposter who will reach the heights of admiration through spreading joy and random things.

Grand Britannia - Alexander Kerensky. You may try to hold sanity in a group through licit or illicit means, but fate will have you fail in that.

Sanct - Nikolai Bukharin. Well liked and respected, but really what are you even doing here? No parliamentarian control will win you this struggle.

Free will is a necessity for anthroposentric faith, where at times God's will and attempts are foiled by the designs of man, rendering his will impotent and the will of man omnipotent in the process.

A theocentric model makes God not fail in any of his endeavours, for man's chief end is to glorify God.

To be fair the greatest argument against Godunov assassinating the heir apparent is that he literally had his throat slit open, whereas someone like Godunov, if he were to assassinate the heir appearent, would have done it in a much more inconclusive way. Though it is funny to note that the court concluded that the young prince had "Played with a knife, fallen and slit his throat." Though I imagine that conclusion was to advert the purge that would otherwise follow.

Ungern-Sternberg is probably a better match for Aillyria than Ivan Grozny, although he was a loyal Tsarist whereas Aillyria is a revolutionary.

The third segment is set during the French Revolution in the late 18th century, and this is where Dreyer's political bias really stars to rear its ugly head. His attempts to portray the revolutionaries as relentlessly evil and the poor aristocratic victims as unfailingly innocent were nothing less than ridiculous. And it's not about whether he's right or wrong -- whether I agree with him or not -- it's simply that I strongly dislike bias in cinema. An effort to see both sides of the equation should be instinctive for a great filmmaker like Dreyer. Here, it is certainly not.

The fourth segment is set in then-modern day Finland, during the country's civil war, and Dreyer's sympathies once again lie with the aristocracy. He celebrates the heroism of the Whites, who can do no wrong, and his anti-communist sentiments against the Reds, composed mostly of the working class, left nothing wanting, even by McCarthy's standards. Truly, this film can be seen as right-wing propaganda. Dreyer is clearly in full support of social inequality, and while I try to make a point not to let my personal opinions effect my viewing experiences with films, I do, as I said before, have a strong aversion to this kind of bias, even in instances in which my opinions and the filmmaker's coincide. Really, the moral certainty here is legitimately disturbing.
