You don't have to have a "fear" of food or a "guilt" of food, to have an antagonism to what food has become in American culture.

You have to set aside a time when you aren't looking at your phone and its constant demand on your attention. If there turns out to be an accident or something, that is awful, but you can't have people constantly looking at their phones in the service. When you step into the narthex, you are supposed to "set aside every worldly care," to utterly forget all worldly matters, and focus solely on God.
What a compassionate sect.

My cell? No. They have lists to prevent that, you know. Most businesses you willingly give your number out to don't call Sundays or Saturdays either.

Such hubris. Such pride. Here I thought your lot were all about humility. I guess that only counts when you're not one-upping your coreligionists and heathens.

Food has lost all ceremony and spiritual depth, it has become poshlost, it is completely about stuffing yourself with sensual quantity.

I'm just hearing the normal talking points of people who jerk themselves off over enjoying things that aren't popular.Food has lost all ceremony and spiritual depth, it has become poshlost, it is completely about stuffing yourself with sensual quantity.
Did your word of the day calendar give you that and now you have the urge to use it on every occasion?

Reminds me of veganism, really. "MM, this is SO MUCH BETTER than all of that NASTY, DISGUSTING, IMMORAL food that you lot eat. I don't even want hamburgers anymore. =^^^)"
It's the same sense of unironically unaware self-righteousness.
