You don't understand the full genius of what could have been the perpetual world empire.

Britain simply did not go far enough. They should not just have legalised opium trade, they should have mandated it at a high rate. Enforced new traditional use of it so as to be able to still consume the increased export, everything the Qing would fuck up (Which was frequent) you could just slap them in the wrist, burn their palaces down, and after a while just deprive them of their inventions and sense of culture while the empire expands.

Doing things this way would objectively make the British man the master race, because the rest of her colonised vassals would be too doped out of their minds to say otherwise and the world lives happily ever after.
