That's correct

This tbh, I'm hyped for space automated colonies

I think that it is morally disgusting, placing our values and goals on earthly things. I also happen to believe it is unsustainable and if we do not dramatically change our consumption habits we will, inevitably, collapse our own biosphere.

Unless we make incredibly rapid progress in the next few decades it'll be too late. We need to make pretty radical changes NOW if we want to prevent serious environmental (and of course human) crisis.

Maybe, maybe not. The truth is scientists don't really know what they're talking about when they predict future climate change,
and it's difficult to tell how much of global warming is caused by human emissions and how much is natural.
Changes do need to be made, but it's hard to say how much we affect the environment,
and how drastic the future is environmentally.

We currently in a era of mass extinction - it's not a hyperbole. Give another 50 years and we will have destroyed what remains of the rain forest, the great barrier reef, and the world's major fisheries.
Space colonization is a pipe dream
until it can be made significantly cheaper -
which will not be for a long time, or in other words, too late.
We need to stop relying on fantasies and the future generations to fix our problems; we need to start taking responsibility now.

Incorrect.and it's difficult to tell how much of global warming is caused by human emissions and how much is natural.
Wrong.Changes do need to be made, but it's hard to say how much we affect the environment,
No, it isn't.and how drastic the future is environmentally.
Wrong again.

I've read the NOAA Climate Report and researched the topic.
If you didn't want to debate over this topic,
then why did you respond to my post?

wow sounds like I'm talking to a bona fide I'm-not-a-scientist here!!!! what an occasionIf you didn't want to debate over this topic,
There's no debate to be had. There's facts and there's the truth.then why did you respond to my post?
Didn't seem like anyone had called you out for posting that tired old bullshit, so figured I'd wave the flag. Maybe on another day I'd have the energy to go gather up an effortpost of links and chuckle as you tried to pick them apart with various garbage pieces of whataboutism, misinterpretation or misunderstanding, and anti-intellectualism, but I don't, so enjoy.
In the meantime, feel free to post your grand proof that the global scientific community is wrong- we've all been waiting for god knows how many years for someone to come up with something rigorous, maybe you'll have turned up some new and groundbreaking science on the matter.

Well you aren't a real socialist. Just a sociopath disguised as one.
Not to mention that this thread split off from LWDT, so I assumed you would think this thread was a "revisionist hellhole".

This expression indicates a Californians' confusion and lack of understanding. When confronted with something he can not understand or respond to, Californians mumble, 'MUH ECONOMY.' This is usually followed by intense rectal pain from anal cancer (from homosexuality), intense White cuckoldry, or both.

Whoa there friend, I'm not even Californian. I was expecting a bit more eloquent of a response than "GAY" and "CUCK".
