That is nonsensical.

For the record I chose other because I would reverse the Potsdam/Yalta conferences.

Because it was a flawed peace and better terms could have been achieved. Westphalia was a terrible error.

Sweden had a weak leader, the great Oxenstierna was out of power and the Queen was doing a botch job. Had the damn thing been pressed harder, the Swedes may have not had those river tolls/new land with which it used to rebuild to terrorize Northern Europe at length later on.

Like any good soldier, a well-trained doggo knows when it's time to get in formation and when it's time to cause trouble for the civvies and start bar fights (ie whenever the officers aren't looking).

I don't know that I trained mine to do that intentionally, he eventually just... started doing that. I guess because I took things away from him that he wasn't supposed to have, so he got the idea that "Things I steal = Master's"

It was interesting how he'd sniff through purses and bring me mini bottles of hand-sanitizer. I never knew how to scold him for doing that either. Like, he's surrendering his stolen goods - do I give him the imperial guard treatment or...?

I miss that sneaky little bastard.

Here is a question for all my fellow Americans, do you think that public schools should recite the American's Creed before school starts? For those who do not know about it here it is:

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies

The creed was originally written in 1917 by William Tyler Page and was accepted by the United States House of Representatives on April 3, 1918.

I support Capitalism do you? If so, put this in your sig.

I think indoctrination of norms and value is good, but there must be a sturdy base of indoctrination upon which this functions, else it is worthless. I also don't think America is established upon equality except before the law.

Nah, feels like BS propaganda to me....but on the other hand, kids these days need something to take them away from this trend of "post modern" lack of common sense.

And it's explicitly towards the country and not a symbol.
It's good, I don't see why we shouldn't use it instead.

A "country" can be defined by more things than just its land.
It can be defined by its government, its people, its culture, and its foreign relations. And potentially more.

It is principally its land and nature. The rest is the country only in relation to that; the government of the land, the people of the land, the culture of the land, the relations of the land. The land and nature are the firm basis of a country; everything else, by itself, is never more than nation.
