I heard someone suggest that if Moore wins the election, the Senate should expel him because it would help Trump. The theory goes that if Moore vacates the seat, Alabama's governor would appoint someone to hole the seat until the next election; that someone could be to conceivably recall Sessions to his old seat which would require him stepping down as AG, then Trump would be able to appoint a new AG -- one that isn't recused from the Russia investigation.

Where were these women at the time of the primaries?

That's what leads me to think that this affair is a sham.

Men in their 30s write notes in high school girl yearbooks and get banned from malls for creeping all the time. Absolutely a sham.

It's called collaborated stories taking a while to get everyone and everything right. They had 4 people and 30 witnesses. This isn't something that just gets done in a day. And there may have been a bit of an expectation of him losing, but when you see there is a very likely chance your child molester might win, you kiiinda want to say something.

To top it off, Roy insists things are copacetic since he gets the girl's Mother's consent. :eyebrow:

No. Frankly, when someone is sexually abused, one of the most difficult things to do is to merely admit to themselves that it happened. For one to admit they were assaulted or abused takes a lot of guts and a lot of vulnerability. To admit it to the world is even harder. I 100% believe these women.

Going about their lives, possibly thinking something along the lines of "I wish I could say something about what Moore did to me, but I'm terrified that would ruin my life." Then the whole Weinstein and #MeToo things happened and I guess they got enough encouragement to push themselves past that fear.

If it weren't for the fact he was trying to fuck children, I would probably admire his persistence.

They could not require Sessions take a Senate seat he would have to want to go.

Sessions likely does not want to go back to the Senate this attorney General appointment is likely the pinnacle of his career.

I think that moment came and passed a few months ago when there was the will he/won't he sack Sessions stories. He's dug in as AG, this is his last Hurrah.

Yeah, I'd have to say that Sessions is likely safe now as AG and will retire after this is done.

What are you even saying? It doesn’t matter what he was back then, it’s coming up conveniently before an election where he’s vulnerable.

This is actually fairly common practice. When investigative journalists or politicians dig up dirt, they purposefully delay spreading the toxic until key strategic moments.

It doesn't? I'm simply pointing out, if you read the post I'm responding to, that the fact it comes up 'conveniently before an election where he's vulnerable' doesn't imply that it is a smear campaign as it is fairly common practice to do so.
