Also his numerous disciplinary problems as a state official, some of which had him removed from office. Then you've got the stuff that just makes him seem shady as a politician and not just as a person like his refusal to debate Jones.

Seriously though, this race should not have been this close.

I don't know anything about the guy....why would I say that he was "unfairly" labelled a homophobe...

why would you even say that about me? :eyebrow:

Ultimately you should actually be happy you’re not represented by this guy, by all means espouse your political views but don’t bemoan the fact this guy lost. It will honestly do some good for the Republicans.

I generally side with Republicans, but not idiotic religious zealots and the like. It just comes with being a Republican, the two party systems fits a lot of ideas in just two tents.

I mean, the racist bit isn't from the sexual assault allegations. That's from him straight up saying, repeatedly, that he thinks America was better off under slavery.

As for whether or not it would hold up in a court, statute of limitations is up, so no, it wouldn't even if they had photographs and rape kits.

You're the one who mentioned rising crime rates, as if the GOP is to blame for that. Or have you suddenly contracted short-term memory loss? I simply explained to you that crime rates went up under Obama's watch in cities that are Dem strongholds.

Republicans have higher murder rates.

Which is hardly relevant, given that there are also cities that are GOP strongholds that have seen crime skyrocket, in which the GOP's main backers are the city's inhabitants (mainly white working class). I was mainly referring to the opioid epidemic that the GOP has helpfully promised to crack down on, as if that will help struggling communities, and occasionally suggested providing lots of money for but then never followed through on, and their abject failure to follow through on any kind of policy that could return jobs and economic dynamism to the Rust Belt, white working class communities that are struggling with shrinking populations and rising crime in the wake of deindustrialization.

The Republican's immediately taking steps to just put the whole thing behind them makes it seem like his own party didn't support him or want him to win.

I could care less if he lost, I don't know who he is.

I find it difficult to believe that any informed person professing to have any level of political opinion or consciousness in the modern United States, or anyone who occasionally looks at literally any major news site or channel of any political bent, could say they "don't know who [Roy Moore] is."

I generally side with Republicans, but not idiotic religious zealots and the like.

Then here's a hot tip: Roy Moore wasn't your dude. The man is a lunatic and he deserved to lose and should not be defended by anyone in the GOP who cares even remotely about the party's electoral success.

And as soon as Kramania lied to you and told you there was just some forgeries and lies or whatever you were awfully fucking happy to just accept that, so don't tell me you weren't dismissing anything.

Anyways, hopefully you've gotten the point. There are mountains of evidence for the accusations of racism and of pedophilia, including statements by Mr. Moore himself. Fortunately he lost, so we no longer will have to relitigate this sordid potpourri of surrealist awfulness.

besides if hes anti-gay etc etc etc then I'm happy he lost.

Oh yeah he goes way, waaaay beyond most of the modern GOP in his level of homophobia. Pretty alarming tbh. I'm very happy he lost.

Roy Moore unhappy, refuses to concede defeat. Why not give him and the angry section of his supporters a small landlocked landmass - we can call it the Pee'd Off Isle.

So now you're selectively choosing which crimes you're talking about, eh? And the bit about the jobs was a bit of a red herring. Try and stay focused? The white working class didnt benefit from 8 years of Obama and the two years he had with a Democrat dominated Congress. Your side had 8 years to make its case. Yoy failed. The simple fact of the matter is that you attempted to blame Republicans for rising crime, when all throughout the 8 years of a Democrat in the WH it went up. I don't intend to go into some lengthy rant because I'm tired. I'll simply say you were wrong and blatantly so.

And I believe there are more democratic mayors especially large cities then republican. It would take more research as to the reasons for each city then a simple claim of who is better.
