I still think the CDC should continue using the banned words in defiance if only because not to do so is dangerous, wrong and stands against everything the CDC stands for. Censorship, especially of this kind, should always be defied, simply because It's the right thing to do for science, the lgbt community and common sense in general.

I can't recall where I saw it now, but I've heard that the CDC is doing this themselves, not at the order of the Trump administration. As in, they know they have to be careful about how they phrase things or Trump and his cronies will slash their funding.
