Where did I say anything about the White House? As per always, your attention to detail is truly awe-inspiring. And my links were to display the phenomenon of Trump supporters ignoring the news; the issue of Russian damage to our systems is far more expansive than a single issue or article.

While the DPRK continues to struggle with food shortages and malnutrition, it is nowhere on the scale that it was during the Arduous March of the mid-late 1990s. Furthermore, reunification is not going to be an immediate process in which North and South Korea are immediately merged. The Sunshine Policy, although heavily undermined and wrecked by the Bush administration in the US, was in part designed to reduce the gap between North and South Korea prior to reunification.

In the long run, reunification would be a boon for Korea, and Korea would have greater power in trade negotiations with other countries. China would no longer be able to take advantage of North Korea's isolation through mining agreements that it has secured in North Korea. Greater productivity from improvements in farming techniques in the North as well as food aid would largely put an end to malnutrition and food shortages.

There would likely be restrictions on movement between North and South, as well as protections in order to prevent South Koreans from coming to completely dominate the North economically, as well as to prevent anger in South Korea due to competition in the job market. Significant migration of North Koreans into South Korea in their current state would also result in significant discrimination.

No one will be starving with the NK government gone. Just a lot of money will need to be spent bu the US and SK. The latter is a better option, since no one is starving/being killed/trapped in NK. So get them before getting them would be more costly than it already is.

Integrating even half of 20 million stunted, retarded former North Koreans into the South Korean economy would poison the South Korean economy. In turn it would poison the Chinese and Japanese economies, and then the American one.
