But there won't be a diplomatic unification until North and South are economic equals. Joining a population as technologically advanced as South Korea with a population as (for lack of a better term) stone age as North Korea would be devastating to both.

Germany seems to have survived reunification.

I'm just saying - apparently it's not at all cut and dried that there needs to be equality before reunification could take place.
