I'm the boring 100% White cisgendered male, the source of all evil and injustice in the world according to some, my only excuse being that I'm at least not Anglo-Saxon (or God forbid German) nor Protestant.

Ok. After consideration, I decided to answer nonwhite mix. It's the closest one to my actual answer. My father is a pure Javanese, If I'm not wrong. Mom said that while she's also Javanese, she said that there are Chinese and Arabic blood from her parents. The Chinese part are from grandpa, the Arabic from grandma.

I would consider you racially East Asian in the poll (as opposed to Indian or Middle Eastern) since your ancestry is mostly Javanese, but it all comes down to how you personally identify. I’m also ethnically mixed but both ethnicities are unarguably East Asian.

That doesn’t explain the comparative lack of people of African ancestry in the poll, unless a statistically significant number of them hapen to be mixed-race. Maybe it’s because there are a lot of non-US citizens who are almost entirely white, Eastern Asian, or mixed in this thread.

I regret not joining right out of high school.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it; it's a daunting thing to sign that much of your life away at so young an age; I was faced with same decision (the recruiter at my school tried to recruit me for the military academy). Looking back on it, I kind of regret turning him down, but I don't blame myself, and neither should you.
