I say they're both equal. You gotta know where you come from and who your ancestors were, because that makes half of you. The other half comes from where you are now. I'm proud to Polish because my ancestors were soldiers who fought for Poland, either under the Red Army during the march on Berlin, or under Napoleon during his invasion of Russia. I've got their blood in me, as well as the blood of those who perhaps didn't do anything of that sort, but did other remarkable things or lived through important events.

I'm also proud to serve America because this country has given me the opportunity to meet some of the greatest people I've ever met, and gave me the life that I've been living for most of my time in this world. So I'm serving for all my friends and for all the opportunities I've been given. But I'm equally proud of where I was born and who my ancestors were.

I know where my ancestors came from, but what matters most is where I came from. My home is here, where I was born and raised, not leagues away on another continent. I still respect those lands and their cultures, however. It would be senseless not to.

You see, my mother's side of the family is Ikarian Greek and Egyptian, which is actually a common mix since the Greek island of Ikaria would regularly trade with Egypt and there was a lot of intermixing. So technically I have a small percentage of Egyptian Arab in me.

I mean, that right there is a complicated question. I'm Iranian. To the average white person, I'm a "brown person". But on the flip side, I'm more "Caucasian" than most white people. What would you consider me?

However while you may be white, you are not Indo-European.

I was on an application the other day, and when I said I was white, it added another question.
It asked me "How would you describe your white ancestry?" It gave me thre options; Europe, Middle East, and Other.
I chose Europe obviously.
