I am ok with it. I will point out I am an Eagle Scout.

For one thing this is not full mix. It's more a trial run at the cub scout level. You can have girl dens, boys can decide to be no girl packs and girls can be in their own.

It does offer things.

1) Families with boys and girls can go to one Troop( even though its a Den)
2) Girls can do the boy scout stuff.

This is a wake up call to GSA. They have been getting rather lame (at least my way as my wife is involved). For example, you can get a camping badge without camping. A first aid badge without knowing able to use first aid. It's more about researching and talking to people about stuff rather then doing the stuff.

Girls want do things. They want to canoe, they want to camp, they want to know how to tie knots and use a pocket knife.....

I can see girls taking this up.

I don't know much to say here. But the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in my country often share activities even if they remain separate groups. And to be fair, most weekly activities sucked and the only fun part was the yearly camping. No, they don't sell cookies. They pick up trash instead.

In the end, I joined all-girl Red Cross Youth and it sucked even harder.

Too late when I was in the Boyscouts I sold shitloads of cookie dough that came in plastic in tubs upwards of either 700 or 800 dollars worth shit I even sold tons of popcorn as well plus it always helps when you got a big family network living in the same town as you.

I sold the most popcorn in my cub pack, definitely helps when you have a large family and your grandmother knows literally everyone in there area.

Look, sometimes boys need a place to be boys without girls around and girls need a place to be girls without boys around. Opening up the BOY scouts to girls is just as stupid as opening up the GIRL scouts to boys. Not everything has to be open to fucking everybody.
