Uhhhhh... maybe i'm mistaken but i thought they were BOY scouts for a reason. Just as much so as Girl Scouts are GIRL scouts. Am i missing? if sex doesn't matter why not just call them scouts and combine the programs? Or is this some type of female supremacy/superiority thing?

As a currently active Assistant Scoutmaster, what makes this ridiculous is the Venture program already being there, co-ed scouting, ages 14-20. They do virtually everything the Boy Scouts do and more, and allow girls to join as well. Why not simple expand or promote that program? What is the point of accepting girls into the explicitly-named Boy Scouts when a program already exists, and is functionally quite well, that is co-ed?

To expand the Venture program to Cub Scout ages would be sensible if that is the goal here-but instead it's just been decided to put girls into the main program, if in segregated troops. Why? What's the purpose? It's ridiculous in light of the plainly apparent other options.

Get girls in Scouting-absolutely. But we already have a system for that, and that's what the focus should be on here.

As an Eagle scout, this is politically motivated leftist bullshit. The only people this will effect will b the children of activist parents who will get shoved into the program to make zir parents look virtuous and boundary pushing on social media
